September 19 – September 20
JCK’s Industry Vice President, Katie Dominesey attended the September Hong Kong Jewelry Shows. It was Katie’s first trip to Hong Kong. She noted how impressive the dual venue show was and used a lot of her time talking to exhibitors and understanding what is going on with their business.
Katie shared, “Going to both the show at Asia World Expo and the Convention Center, you really see the breadth and depth of what our industry has to offer in terms of loose gemstones, technology, manufacturers, and designers from all over the globe.”
Katie also met with many of JCK’s international partners, including a traditional Chinese lunch with the HKJMA Board and dim sum with the team from Vicenza. After the shows closed each day, Katie explored Hong Kong, taking inspiration from the impressive shopping areas and layouts.
Her favorite night in Hong Kong was attending a WJA Jewelry Night Out event hosted by Hayley Henning, where she was able to see other jewelry insiders like Phyllis Bergman, Reena Ahluwalia, Melissa Spencer, Rebecca Moskal, and meet new members from Korea. Later that evening, she joined Neda Behnam of Samuel B and the Evine buying team, where they enjoyed exploring the famous expat area of Lan Kwai Fong.
September 21 – September 26
Isabel Cajulis, JCK’s Retail Account Manager and Nina Mancini, JCK Design Center Account Executive packed their bags for a week-long excursion through colorful Colorado to visit with existing, new, and prospective customers. There’s no trip to Colorado that isn’t a beautiful one, and this adventure was no different with pit stops made in: Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Vail, and Aspen. Nina enjoyed Colorado so much she’s already booked her next trip back. They both saw value in learning the landscape of the retail and designer scene, gaining new perspectives from their Coloradan customers.
Isabel enjoyed making business personal and commented, “These travels have been special for me. The JCK community is so large but one by one we’re meeting with so many retailers that I had only emailed or talked with on the phone. It’s always great to put a face to a name and I’m excited to continue this journey!”
Isabel and Nina were very thankful to everyone that opened their doors and provided them with a peek into their world.

- Boulder: Todd Reed, Angie Star, and prospect John Antecino while Isabel was off perusing the store fronts of Art & Soul Gallery, Starfish, Cedar & Hyde, Walters & Hogsett, and Hurdle’s Jewelry.
