Weekend in Review

Cue the red carpet. The JCK team settled into New York City this past weekend, pleased to be a part of the industry events to kick off the new year. Calendars were booked full of meetings by the Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA), Jewelers’ Security Alliance, the JCK Advisory Board, the Gem Awards, 24 Karat and more.  Such a glamorous and enriching weekend deserves tribute, so here’s a look back at the highlights from our perspective.

JCK Advisory Board

The JCK Advisory Board, comprised of prominent industry suppliers, retailers and association leaders, gathered in New York to discuss important updates for the 2018 and 2019 events. This group’s feedback and ideas are instrumental in building and shaping our future events. Following business discussions, the board toasted to the retirement of Avi Raz. Avi has been a member of the JCK Advisory Board since its inception and we are beyond thankful for his support and passion throughout the years.  Thank you for your service Avi, you will be missed!

The Gem Awards

The Jewelers of America presented the annual Gem Awards on Friday evening at Cipriani. The Gem Awards serves as one of the jewelry industry’s most celebrated galas, honoring the achievements of individuals and companies whose work elevates the visibility of fine jewelry and watches.  The team was thrilled to participate, with LUXURY being the evening’s Bellini sponsor, as we raised our glasses to toast the night’s honorees and award winners, including: Sally Morrison, Lifetime Achievement, Debra Messing, Jewelry Style, Irene Neuwirth, Jewelry Design, Marion Fasel, Media Excellence, and Moda Operandi, Retail Innovation.

The 24 Karat Club of New York Dinner

The industry was dressed to the nines for the elegant 24 Karat Club of New York dinner and evening events. The Club brought together the industry’s finest to celebrate success in its new home at the New York Hilton Midtown. Dinner guests were entertained by, American Idol runner-up, Katharine McPhee who dazzled the crowd with an impressive array of ballads beginning with an industry classic, “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”.
