To kickstart your trendspotting, here’s a preview of four exciting emerging trends, accompanied by images from some of our exceptional exhibitors. Under the Sea
Is it a coincidence that JCK Las Vegas inspires vacation plans? For many, the annual trip to the desert is the first real warmth after a long winter and a floundering spring. It’s also a promise of summer (and searing heat), when cool ocean-inspired pieces will be a welcome sight for retail customers. Many of our Luxury brands seem to feel the same way: Their assortment of nautical and underwater jewels is just beachy.
The ’90s have a hold on the fashion industry at the moment, with tie-dye emerging as one of summer’s most interesting trends. The explosion of bright, vivid color is so energizing that it makes us want everything to be pastel and neon rainbow. Look for jewels inspired by this style—in multiple colors and with playful designs that impart a feeling of fun while remaining luxurious works of art.
Pink, whether in gemstone or metal, is still huge in wedding jewelry, and the selection is growing. Go all-out peach with “alternative bridal” selections featuring center stones like morganite and padparadscha sapphire, or choose one (or several) of the many all-rose gold settings in both engagement rings and wedding bands. For just a touch of color, seek out pink-kissed pieces featuring a hint of rose gold for a sweet two-tone look, or pieces with pink accent stones.
A new wave of pearl jewelry is hitting showcases—and it’s fresh, fun, and sophisticated. Look for updated silhouettes featuring tiny pearl accents, like huggie earrings perfect for ears with multiple piercings. Or, for a showstopper, take in the views of singularly set pearl pieces with large gems at their centers.
