Design of the Times: So Young Park Studio & M. Spalten

Design of the Times

JCK Tucson is almost here! In addition to gems of the mineral kind, it offers discovery and connection with gems of a different kind: the artists and other people of the industry. It’s powerful when we get together IRL (in real life) to explore new aesthetics, find new talent, and reconnect with old friends. There is a real community at JCK Tucson waiting to be discovered! So Young Park Studio I have been an admirer of So Young Park’s jewelry work for a long time. She has a way of challenging your perception of what fine jewelry looks like. Her jewelry is…

Full Circle With Michael and Catherine Jensen

Comments

Michael and Catherine Jensen work hand in hand to create each original piece for Michael Jensen Designs. They pride themselves on doing everything from sketches to texture application completely by hand. This shows in their finished product! They have had a number of different lines, many inspired by historical sites and museums, stories, and their travels. Currently, the VETUS collection, whose name comes from the Latin word for “aged,” headlines the brand. This line has been a dominant force for the past 10 years. We are so excited to have them return to JCK Tucson this year to show us more of…

Froman will be making her JCK Tucson debut in February, and we are so excited to see everything she has to offer! In this week’s Full Circle, she gave us the lowdown on subjects ranging…

We all need a gem fix right about now, and the designers you’ll see at JCK Tucson are the perfect cure.  Two of my favorite designers will be exhibiting this year, and I can’t wait to see their new, vibrant collections. Elizabeth Garvin Elizabeth Garvin took a fateful metalworking class in college, and had an epiphany: She recognized that with precious metal, she would never learn it all, or run out of inspiration to create. She made jewelry her career, starting with a bench in…

Comments

Jewelry has been a part of Aaron Furlong’s family since 1940, so it was only natural that he got into the family business! His award-winning pieces have captured the attention of many in the jewelry world thanks to his fine craftsmanship and attention to detail.
