6 Jewelry Trends to Watch for at JCK Las Vegas
We are ready to roll at JCK Las Vegas! Many of you will be strapping on your most comfortable shoes (pro tip #1) to make your rounds on the show floor, stashing your pockets full of granola bars (pro tip #2), and making your final lists and checking them twice—on a fully charged cellphone with backup travel charger, obviously (pro tip #3!). You already knew all of these tips, of course—I’m just here for the reminder. So while you’re giving your FitBit the count of its life on your daily business (and pleasure!) visits, you’ll want to pay attention to what’s new and trending on the show floor, to can ensure a successful holiday season catering to all of your customers’ wants and needs. Here are my picks for the top 6 trends to watch out for:
The Lavalier – Lariat, lavalier, and Y-shape necklaces are still very much in favor, and they’re perfect for late summer and early fall wardrobe additions—and they’ll make for excellent holiday gifts.
Big Earrings – From chandeliers to hoops to shoulder dusters—it doesn’t really matter the type. So long as it’s big, bold, and beautiful, it’s exactly what you’re looking for.
Reach for the Stars – Maybe it’s our current infatuation with space travel, or it’s simply that celestial jewelry has never not been beloved, but it’s more apparent than ever—which means there are so many good options to choose from.
Enamel – Gemstones will, as ever, be the hit of the show floor, but enamel is starting to make waves in every price point.
Collar – I’m pretty sure the collar necklace was on our Vegas trends list last year, which just goes to show that the curvy silhouette is still at the top of its game. And now that it’s had more time to develop, the range of styles is basically unlimited. Score.
Architecturally Inspired – Intricately-crafted styles that look more like they were designed by architects than jewelers (perhaps both!) are high on our radar, with jewels that make the most of their metal settings, with or without any gemstones.
